The VANROSS Foundation, Inc. is proud to present our 2018 Board Of Directors. Our TVF board members are from various walks of life. They each have strong skills and experiences that will enhance the foundation. We depend on our Board to define the foundation's mission, to establish priorities, to be strategic and to ensure that the plans and programs of the foundation are implemented throughout the term. We are excited to see how this year unfolds!  


Mayada Shahrokhi


Mayada Shahrokhi is married with 2 children. Her daughter Dina is 29 and her son Sami is 24 and she goes by her nickname May. She originally grew up in Kuwait, and in 1982 she  moved to Houston, Texas. May has an undergraduate degree from the University of Houston/Downtown in Applied Math and she has a Master's of Science & “ABD” in Applied Math from the University of Houston as well. Since September 2009, May taught at U of H and the University of Houston/Downtown for 9 years before becoming a full time Mathematics Professor as well as a "Lead Faculty member at Lone Star College Cy- Fair. “  On September 20, 2015 she became a licensed Realtor.

Roy C. Owens


 Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Roy C. Owens earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Management and Human Resources from Kansas State University. Over the past 14 years, he handled a number of disability claims for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. In addition, he is a co-founder and owner of The Breezz (Co-working, Meetings and Events Venue in Round Rock, TX.) and GREO Galleries Unlimited. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, fishing, photography and spending time with his family. His strong faith in God keeps him motivated to continue moving forward and being a blessing to others.

Genia M. Owens


Genia M. Owens, co-founder and owner of The Breezz (Co-working, Meetings and Events Venue in Round Rock, TX.) and GREO Galleries Unlimited is passionate about inspiring others to achieve their dreams. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Marketing at Kansas State University and a Master of Applied Science in information and Communications Technology-Website Development and Design at the University of Denver. Her pastimes are writing, drawing/painting, going to the theater and spending time with her family. Though she fulfilled many notable achievements (e.g. publishing her first book titled “Blessings in Blogs: Living Effectively.” ), she attributes her accomplishments to God and family.

Terry Richardson


Terry Richardson is Vice President of Manufacturing for ThyssenKrupp Elevator in North America. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Production Engineering at Kansas State Uni. in 1983. He began his career as a Manufacturing Engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation. He completed his Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1990. He has nearly 30 years of engineering and operations management experience. He later became a Guardian Ad Litem for the Harris County Court System but is currently inactive. He has coached football & basketball for the CyFair Youth Sports Association, Lewisville Football Association, and the Cypress Creek YMCA. As a board member, he will continue to support the educational needs of youth across Texas. He enjoys golf, fishing, college athletics, and international travel.

Ella F. Pullen


 Ella F Pullen is orginally from Waelder,TX. and is currently retired. She is the Founder of the Ralph Bunche  Alumni Association in Waelder, TX. which also awards scholarships. She attended Phillis Wheatly High school after relocating to San Antonio. There she enrolled in Cosmetology and met her husband Charles C. Pullen. Mr. Pullen was in the military. They have two children, son Jay is 56, daughter Della 51, 3 grand children and 8 great grand children. During their military life she traveled extensively putting the Cosmetology  to good use. In 1974, she arrived in Houston, TX. She worked in the Medical field 7 years and Technical Quality Control. She spent 15 years as office manager for Dr Willianms, Nephologist and Internal Medicine. She retired Dec. 30th 2008.  She is a member of Crossover Bible Fellowship Church and Pathfinder's  Ministry. 

Stephen J. Hart


Stephen joins our board of directors from Houston, TX. He is the General Manager for Fuddrucker’s Willowbrook. Stephen has a passion for helping others and has supported education both personally and professionally. As the chair of the Scholarship Committee, Stephen and his team review all submitted scholarship applications and pass their recommendations onto the full board of directors for approval. Stephen has also hosted fundraising events for The VanRoss Foundation.
