There are many charitable organizations, and most are well known throughout our communities. We are all familiar with Feed The Children, United Way, and The American Red Cross.....just to name a few. All of these wonderful foundations have one main theme in common, to make life better for those who are deserving.
Our Beginnings
The thought process behind The VANROSS Foundation began with one woman who wanted not only the best for her six daughters, but for every child that she interacted with. She wanted young people to be equipped with biblical and practical principles, so they could handle as many situations in life as possible. One of her favorite scriptures was, Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint" (NLT). I am proud to say that this wonderful woman was our Mom. What a role model she was for us, and for every child that she came in contact with. She wanted them to know that they were special and that they had the ability to learn. I fondly think back over each organization that she took part in. And outside of work....there were various groups that she volunteered with. For example, ministry groups at her church, The March of Dimes, Camp Fire Girls and the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA).
We know there are times when our young people do not get the recognition they deserve. They work hard to maintain their high GPA's and they work hard to help serve their communities. And because they give of themselves, we do not want their sacrifices to go unnoticed. That is one reason The VanRoss Foundation has been created. TVF originated in 2005 and was officially organized in 2017. We are a national organization and we strive to serve every deserving high school senior in the states of Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, California, Tennessee and Texas. We want to position the foundation so it can award as many scholarships as possible. We want to make sure that every dollar counts, especially when we know how bureaucracy can overtake a foundation's ability to serve those who need it the most. We want to improve those odds by making sure that our percentages of giving will supersede the competition.
TVF's Future
The VANROSS Foundation is excited about our future. We have expanded our operations not only in the state of Texas but also in the states of Kansas, Missouri, California, North Carolina and Tennessee. Becoming national has been a part of our plan from the beginning and as Founder/ CEO/Board Member, I support our Officers and Board of Directors as we strive to accommodate as many high school seniors as possible. Along with our Chief Operating Officer Keith Richardson, the foundation makes every effort to ensure that we maintain quality and professionalism throughout the organization. Our Board members come from various walks of life, and they possess a wide range of skills and talents. We are grateful that we have the opportunity to draw from their experiences to enhance and strengthen the foundation. So through generous donations, as well as volunteers, we will continue to expand and hopefully it will also lead to annual scholarship increases for future recipients. We want to help as many deserving high school seniors as possible and we look forward to accommodating just as many students in the states that we are currently registered in.
Blessings,
Viola Richardson
