The rising costs of college tuition has placed economic hardships on our high school seniors. Their goals for a better future are becoming harder to achieve. As they pursue post-secondary education, they are determined to secure scholarships and grants to help supplement the costs of college. It is our desire as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization to help them with funding their education. Our mission is to award partial scholarships to deserving high school seniors for their college tuition.
The Vanross Foundation was inspired by the commitment to education of Barbara Vanross Baskin. She was my mom.....and she supported her six daughters in pursuing higher education. Not only did she push her daughters academically, she worked with many young people as a christian mentor, volunteer educator and coordinator. The foundation honors her legacy.
The Vanross Foundation, Inc. began in 2006 by doing business as (dba) The Vanross Foundation. The formation of the foundation originated in 2017. Viola Richardson, a graduate of Kansas State University, an Educator, Realtor/Broker, and Founder/CEO of The Vanross Foundation teamed up with Keith Richardson. We Incorporated TVF In 2018. Keith Richardson attended Baylor University. He also worked In Baylor’s Cost Center, in which he was awarded honors for surpassing their goals of fundraising. He then worked at United Way for ten years as a Development Officer before pursuing a career as Chief Operating Officer with The Vanross Foundation. Keith brings a wealth of experience and extensive knowledge to the nonprofit foundation.
The officers of TVF decided that the foundation would focus on one main idea, helping deserving high school seniors obtain partial scholarships. We serve the foundation alongside twenty professional Board of Directors, who represent various industries in life. From education to finance, marketing and nonprofit. And we are grateful for the exemplary work that our volunteers provide.
