The VanRoss Foundation was inspired by Barbara VanRoss Baskin's commitment to education. She was the mother of TVF's Founder and CEO, Viola Richardson. She worked to support her six daughters and inspired them to pursue higher education. Not only did she encourage her daughters academically, she also worked as a Christian mentor, volunteer educator and coordinator with many young people. The foundation honors her legacy.
The officers of TVF wanted the foundation to focus on one main idea. It was to help deserving high school seniors meet their educational needs by awarding partial scholarships for their college tuition. The Officers serve on the Board of Directors alongside the foundation's Board Members. The Directors represent various industries in life, from education and finance, marketing and advertisement, non-profit and law. The VanRoss Foundation was officially launched in 2017 and was incorporated in 2018 in the State of Texas. TVF is grateful for the exemplary work that our board members, partners and volunteers provide.
The rising costs of college tuition has placed economic hardships on high school seniors. Their goals for a better future are becoming harder to achieve. As they pursue post-secondary education, they are determined to secure scholarships and grants to help supplement the costs of college. It is our desire as a 501(c)3 national nonprofit organization to help them with funding their education. Our mission is to award partial scholarships to deserving high school seniors for their college tuition.
