Dr. Beverly Caro Duréus, Esq., sought after author, conference speaker, and ordained minister, teaches full-time at the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she was a nominee for SMU’s Provost’s Teaching Recognition Award for 2019-2020. Her classes include Legal Research, Writing, and Advocacy, and a Federal Judicial Externship class, co-taught with a senior Federal Judge. She publishes in the interdisciplinary area of law and theology. She is the Founder of Katallasso Alternative Dispute Resolutions™ (Christian Conciliations), litigates matters as a solo practitioner, maintains an affiliation with White & Wiggins, L.L.P., and advises on ecclesial matters. Once a shareholder at Chapman & Reese, P.C., and associate attorney with Gardere & Wynne, this energetic bi-vocational professional and ordained minister, also holds a Doctorate in Ministry and Master of Theology degree, and is the Founder and President of Katallasso Ministries International™, a non-profit expository teaching and proclamation enterprise, traveling domestically and internationally, motivating individuals to live according to God’s Word. She serves her community as a Volunteer Chaplain for the Cedar Hill Police Department, serves on several non-profit boards, and was honored in the 2018 and 2019 editions of Who’s Who in Black Dallas. She, her husband, Rev. Dr. EdselDuréus, and son, Edsel, II live in Cedar Hill, Texas.
